Production: The book has been hand made and hand bound as a tunnel book. The book cover is made from black suede and the hinged case is covered with black paper and a strip of black suede which holds the title.
The webs were laser cut from tracing paper.
Description: The artist's book comments on chaotic and stressful contemporary living by using a series of webs as a metaphor. Each individual web is simple in construction but when the webs are placed in a series, the view through them becomes chaotic. The viewer's focus constantly shifts from one web to another. The book simply states how an abundance of simplicity is in fact complicated.
This idea of abundant simplicity being complicated can be viewed as people, daily tasks or tools which are meant to make life easier, information etc.
When an individual is faced with an abundance of information for example, it is often quite difficult to know where to start with it all. This is exactly how this book is meant to make it's viewer feel when looking through it.
